About Us…

My name is Katie Rytkonen, HSR Certified Professional Home Stager and Redesigner and owner of Serendipity Home Staging and Redesign. Home redesign has always been a passion of mine! Even as a child, I would move the furniture around in my bedroom, living room, and family room until it looked just right. Constantly gravitating towards home design, staging and remodeling television shows, I would watch and think, “I want to do that!” A few years ago, I purchased a bank-owned home that was in disrepair (or what friends referred to as “hideous”). Being on a very limited budget did not stop me. Even though I wanted to spend as little cash as possible I truly wanted to create a beautiful home that I would be proud to show to my family, friends and visitors. It turned out to be one of the best and most fun projects I’ve ever done. I got to do what all of the professionals on television were doing and I loved every minute of it. That passion and eye for design led me to pursue further training in the field of home staging and redesign.

I completed the extensive home staging and redesign certification courses offered by the Home Staging Resource. It is the only training program to have been “accredited” by the Real Estate Staging Association (RESA) and it provides training in all areas of home staging and redesign including furniture placement, accessorizing, and color selection. After becoming an HSR Certified Professional Home Stager and Redesigner, I decided to share my objectivity and expertise with others. That is when Serendipity Home Staging and Redesign was born.
